Austin Antenna, Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of
World Wireless Communications, Inc., is the world leader in multi-band antenna applications.
Since 1978, Austin Antenna has vigorously developed unique, practical and ingenious solutions to the problems of multi-band antenna design and assumed a commanding lead in the industry by creating and producing several multiplexer designs which enable users to communicate on several frequencies simultaneously.
Tri-band Mobile antennae are an adaptation of the popular Metropolitan Mobile Multiband Antenna. They employ the unique Austin patented design, utilizing state-of-the-art resonant cavity techniques to achieve high performance and simultaneous match for VHF/UHF multi-band operation. All elements are end fed 1/4 wave elements, using the vehicle as a ground plane. Decoupling of each element is by means of the resonant cavity, which also produces a 50 ohm match. This isolation produces a superior radiation pattern that provides great performance on each band. This family of multi-band antennae is also available in dual and quad versions with
many different combinations.
The 500C antennae are an adaptation of the popular Metropolitan Mobile Multiband Antenna. They employ the unique Austin patented design, utilizing state-of-the-art resonant cavity techniques to achieve high performance and simultaneous match for VHF/UHF multi-band operation. The UHF function is handled by the upper whip portion of the antennae. The element is operational as a ground independent 1/2 wave radiator. It is isolated from the feed line by the resonant cavity, which also produces a 50 ohm match. This isolation, combined with the elevation of the feed point, produces a superior radiation pattern that is on the horizon for maximum range and efficiency. VHF operation is provided by the overall length of the antenna, functioning as an offset fed 1/4 wave element while using the vehicle as a ground plane. This patented technique substantially lowers the typically high radiation angle of the 1/4 wave antenna. Relatively short, the antenna will not bend over at highway speeds , distorting the radiation pattern. These two factors combine to provide performance when at speeds exceeding that of a typical 5/8 wave design. The 500C family of antennae includes single, dual, tri, and quad band versions in many popular frequency splits. |
