I have an Amateur Radio question...
We receive many questions about Amateur Radio (Ham Radio) products and
services. Since our primary focus is Commercial 2-Way Radio the
questions are better asked of the experts in the Amateur Radio field. There

Why no prices on some items?
Several manufacturers will not allow prices for certain products to be
shown on a web site. This is because web pricing causes friction with
dealers who are unable to compete effectively (dealers without web sites
or who have low web visibility). Never ending complaints, price
wars and contention between the dealers and manufacturer are
eliminated when pricing is removed. It also allows dealers more
flexibility in quoting the lowest price in a continually changing
market.

What are the shipping charges?
The best method to determine the exact shipping charges and total cost
is to place a "Test" order online. Place an order normally using the
e-commerce system and type the word "Test" in all the information boxes
except your City, State and Zip Code, which must be correct. Continue
with the ordering process until you reach the final page with the order
totals and exact shipping. You can even submit a Test order since all
Test orders are ignored by the system.

Why haven't you answered my email?!!
Do to the huge increase in unwanted emails (spam) and
many hundreds of questions and requests a day, it has become impossible
to answer every email. An average email can take between 10-30 minutes
to research and answer. Keeping your questions short and to the point
helps but answering every email we receive has become a physical
impossibility.

I never got an Order Conformation...
Customers sometimes complain they never receive an order conformation or
email even though they just placed an order. This is usually caused by a
SPAM filter installed by the customer's ISP or one running on his or her
computer. Some spam filtering systems require you to register before it
will allow a message through. We understand this completely but are
unable to comply with the registration request because there are so
many. We recommend setting up a temporary free email account at Yahoo or
Google when
you make an online purchase to avoid the spam filter problem.

I never got a Receipt...
Every online order is shipped with a dated credit card receipt. The
receipt is always placed within a plastic protective bag and is inside
the box with the order. The receipt can sometimes be taped to the inside
of the shipping box. Be sure you carefully look for your receipt in the
box and packing material before you throw them away. If you need an itemized total cost listing you
should refer to your original order receipt which you printed out when
you placed the order. If you need a copy of your original order receipt
you can email a request with your order number and we will email back a
html printable copy. Note: Drop shipped items do not contain a credit
card receipt.

Why is your phone always busy?!!
The toll free help line is in constant use during our
phone hours. It usually rings within a few seconds after each completed
call. Many customers have complicated product or help questions and
calls can run quite long. The best time to get through is 3-5 pm EST T-F.

Can I place an order by phone?
After many years of experience we have realized that
phone orders are impractical, time consuming and inaccurate. The phone
can make you confuse some words, letters or numbers and order mistakes are
introduced. When you enter your order online you can instantly see
mistakes and fix them, choose the correct shipping and print copies of
your order and order number. If you're worried about your credit card
number you can always call it in after you have placed the order online.

Can you ship to my P.O. Box?
No, UPS requires a physical delivery address for all packages it
handles. You must list a Street address, Suite, Building #, Apartment #
or other physical address in the address line on the check out form when
ordering. Post Office Box number addresses are not considered physical
addresses by UPS and they will not deliver to them. This is simply a UPS
shipping requirement.

Can you ship using the U. S. Post Office?
No, our e-commerce system is managed using UPS. All shipping procedures
are for UPS shipping only and are built in to our online e-commerce
shopping system.

Will you ship COD?
No, we do not ship C.O.D., nor does our e-commerce system handle this
payment method.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, shipping internationally is not a problem. Our international
shipping is via UPS WorldShip only. We do not ship internationally using the U.S. Post
Office or other carrier.

Do you do repairs?
We no longer do general repairs. Our repair service is
strictly limited to warranty service only on equipment originally
purchased from us within the product's warranty period.

I would like your product catalogue
mailed to me...
In order to reduce operating costs and keep our prices
competitive we no longer supply paper catalogues. All available
information regarding a product has been published on our web site which
is frequently updated.

Product Returns...
If you would like to return an item you have purchased

Can I place an order or send my credit
card number by email?
Email is not a secure way to send personal information. Our online SSL
e-commerce system provides the highest security available and is the
recommended method for placing orders.

Can I get discount pricing or quantity
pricing?
Yes, but your quantity should be at least 20-25 units. Quantity pricing
depends on the manufacturer and most give price breaks around 25 units,
a discount we will be glad to pass on if you're in that quantity range.

I need radio programming, what
information do I send?
Please email your programming information with your order number in the
subject line. Include the following seven information items for each
channel:
1-Channel Number, 2-Channel Name, 3-Receive Frequency,
4-Receive CTCSS/DCS Code, 5-Transmit Frequency, 6-Transmit
CTCSS/DCS Code, 7-Wide/Narrow band. If you don't have this
information available please call our help line and we will assist you
in obtaining it.

We do not sell or support the VX-150. The VX-150 is an Amateur Radio
(Ham Radio) product and Vertex Standard does not allow it's Commercial
2-Way dealers to sell or support Amateur Radio equipment.

Rotators are considered an Amateur Radio (Ham Radio) product and Vertex

Antenna Rotators and accessories.

Aircraft or Air Band radio questions...
Presently Vertex Standard does not allow it's Commercial 2-Way dealers
to sell or support Air Band radios. There are many good Vertex Standard
Aircraft Air Band Radio dealers online available through a Google or
Yahoo search.
