Intrinsically Safe Rating?
An intrinsically safe radio is one that has been certified
"safe" in explosive or dangerous environments. These
radios are used in mining, the oil industry, manufacturing, grain
storage etc. Any situation where there could be explosive
gases or highly flammable materials. Most people do
not need to purchase intrinsically safe radios and it usually
delays the order.
Intrinsically Safe Approvals: The VX-510 VHF/VHFL and
UHF models have been given an intrinsically safe rating for use in
ANSI/UL-913-88 Class I , I I , and III . Division 1, Groups A, B, C,
D, E, F, and G hazardous environments on models equipped with the
Intrinsically Safe option. |
