The Wilson 2000 Trucker's higher gain performance is a result of several new design developments that bring to you the most powerful CB center loaded antenna available.
A large portion of the power that goes into a typical base loaded CB antenna is lost as heat in the coil and as dielectric heat loss in the plastic inside the coil form. Many CB antennas lose more than 50% of the power put into them. The power is wasted as heat loss and not radiated as radio waves. Another weak link in other CB antennas is the capacitor used to match the coax to the antenna, which is a cheap and easy way to make the SWR look good, but has lots of power loss, plus blows out when high power is applied to it.
The first priority was to reduce the dielectric loss by removing as much of the plastic inside the coil as possible. This was accomplished by suspending the coil in air, supported only at four small points, 90° apart, in effect removing 95 % of the plastic from the inside surface
of the coil. This reduced the dielectric loss to a negligible amount.
The second priority was to get rid of the resistive heat loss in the coil. Since most of the RF energy at 27 MHZ travels on the surface of the wire, it was decided to increase the surface area by making the diameter of the wire a larger 10 ga copper. Since silver is a much better conductor than copper, although very expensive, the wire was heavily silver plated. This reduced the resistive loss to a minimum. Any power loss in the coil is practically eliminated in the Wilson 2000 Trucker.

SW 2000 Trucker Same Great Performance as the Trucker 2000
The SW 2000 is another great trucker antenna from Wilson. It uses the exclusive low loss coil design (Patent #4,882,591), and is patterned after the proven performance of the Trucker 1000 and Trucker 2000. The Short Whip 2000 out performs all similar type center loaded antennas. Designed specifically for the trucker who needs the antenna coil higher than regular installations will allow or needs a shorter whip for those height restricted areas.
The air wound coil contains extra turns of heavy duty 10 gauge silver plated wire. The Wilson trademark of silver plating wire in antennas offers maximum efficiency of a shortened antenna whip. The coil cover is made from special thermoplastics developed from
high impact engineering. This gives the SW-2000 the durability for heavy over the road use. The Trucker SW-2000 is available with your choice of the 18" or 22" stainless steel shaft. (This added height of the shaft requires using only stainless steel studs on the mounting bracket.) With an average total height of only 53" after tuning, this makes the SW2000 a perfect antenna for the Ford T-600 or other "Ant-eater" type tractor rigs.

WARRANTY NOTES
The Wilson Trucker antenna is warranted for one year against defects in workmanship and/or materials and will be repaired or replaced, at the discretion of the manufacturer, to the original purchaser with dated proof of purchase or sales receipt.
Wilson supports an over-the-counter repair/exchange policy for the convenience of the purchaser. Most warranty cases can be handled by taking the antenna and receipt to the store where the antenna was purchased, If inconvenient, the antenna may be sent to the factory at purchasers expense where it will be repaired or replaced and returned shipping paid.
Warranty does not cover damages caused by abuse, misuse, negligence, i.e. hitting overhead objects, improper installation, etc. These are considered to be avoidable circumstances and are not covered by warranty. |
